About Debra Brown, Director of Hugs
Debra is a coach, mentor and trainer who communicates from the heart to connect with everyone she comes into contact with. She wants to help people to reach their potential and lead fulfilling lives filled with joy and abundance.

Debra is mother to Christopher and Emily, and grandmother to Evie Grace. She is the oldest of five sisters and is family orientated.
Attending Tony Robbins Mastery University and Leadership Accademy programmes had a massive impact on her life.

It was then that she decided that she must start living in her purpose and helping other people by passing on the knowledge that has impacted her own life so positively.
Debra’s Background
Debra has had a varied background, starting off her career in secretarial and administrative work. By the age of 24, she was National Admin Manager for a window company with responsibility for recruitment, training and management of staff in 18 branches throughout the UK. In this role, she standardised and implemented procedures and carried out audits.
This set her in good stead when she set up her own business in Secretarial & Office Services in 1988 when her son was just 7 months old. Her daughter was born 9 months later and Debra then concentrated on diversifying her business into printing and promotional gifts. Her goal was to run the business for 5 years to prove that she could succeed and not be one of the start-up failure statistics.
In 1992 Debra formed a second business in the sales and marketing industry which led to her travelling internationally and being asked to be a keynote speaker at a national sales conference.
Debra returned to the window industry in 1994 where she worked as Quality Assurance Manager with responsibility for Health and Safety. She streamlined the company’s procedures and reduced paperwork by 40%. She was seconded to the purchasing department for 4 months during a company re-structure where she worked as Buyer with responsibility for staff in Stores and Purchasing Departments. She reduced stock holding to improve cashflow and reduced computer downtime from 5 days to half a day.
She had always wanted to get into training and in 1997 Debra worked as a Training Adviser helping candidates achieve NVQs in Business Administration and Customer Service. She was promoted to Business Development Officer in 1999, and again to Commercial Business Manager in 2000 with key account management for member companies which involved carrying out training needs analysis and devising programmes to solve company problems. She had additional responsibility as Programme Director for Institute of Management Courses which involved managing NVQ programmes in Management and acting as adviser, mentor and assessor.
In December 2001 Debra joined Burnley Enterprise Trust as Business Support Manager and was promoted to Executive Director in July 2004 with responsibility for management of staff and operations. She was actively involved in running a Women in Business project, recognised as an example of best practice, and she led on the Young Entrepreneur programme working with students in secondary schools and colleges to promote enterprise education. In a voluntary capacity, she was Chair of Young Enterprise and a member of the East Lancashire Strategic Board.
In July 2004, Debra and her husband split up. This set her on an amazing journey of self-discovery which led to her training with Tony Robbins and other world class leaders in the personal development field and making massive changes in her life. Global Hugs Ltd is a vehicle for Debra to share what she’s learnt to help others reach their potential and lead fulfilling lives filled with joy and abundance.

Debra’s belief is that we are all spiritual being having a human experience. Everything is energy and we are all connected. What we do to others we do to ourselves. She believes that life is an amazing journey and we should enjoy every step along the way rather than waiting till we reach the destination.
